Our Company

Nobody can doubt that energy conservation is important – whether that is at home or at work. Who doesn't want to lower the cost of their energy? Renewables are no longer simply something for enthusiasts or people living on windy hills. it’s available to all of us at prices that are increasingly attractive.

But dipping your toe into the renewable energy pool can be daunting and confusing.

Where do you start without calling up someone who wants to sell THEIR product to you?

That’s where we come in.

ReEnergise is an independent company advising both home owners and businesses on what will work best for them, helping them through the purchasing and installation of any new kit and keeping suppliers on their toes.

Our aim is to make energy efficiency and renewables pay its way and work for you.

Who we are

We provide home and business owners with everything they need to make an informed choice about how to improve energy efficiency and whether renewable energy is right for them. We also work with architects, developers and Public Authorities on schemes to integrate renewable energy into their projects.

We are not a subsidiary of some big energy supplier nor are we just trying to sell solar panels (although we do think they are worth a look if you have a south facing roof).

Our aim is to be the company people turn to when they want to review their overall energy consumption and first start thinking that renewable energy might have something to offer them. Our customers don’t want the hard-sell nor the all roads lead to Rome (or solar panels) approach to choosing the right system for them. They want honest, independent advice delivered with integrity and that is what we give them.

What we do

Three things basically:

Advice: We will develop an overall efficiency review of your home or business and provide costed recommendations for you to consider. This is a detailed written report based on us talking to you about your current energy needs and usage and not some faceless internet-based multiple choice form.

Project Management and Installation: If you decide to go for it, we can help you select the right energy efficiency products and/or renewable energy technology (solar, biomass, heat-pumps you name it) and then ensure the system is installed correctly and working as it should. Have you heard the one about the wind turbine that was only turning because it was being powered by a plug?

Finance: We can provide advice on a variety of financing options to help spread the load of the initial investment over the period that your system will deliver heat or electricity to you. Find out more at our dedicated finance site: www.reenergisefinance.com

Where we work

We believe that to offer our domestic customers the best service we need to be close to them. Our patch is Central Southern England which we define as west of Brighton, east of Southampton and as far north as the M25. We’re not going to split hairs though so if you live in Bournmouth, Eastbourne or Sutton we’ll still be happy to talk to you.

In contrast, our commercial customers are based across the UK

Who we work for

Simple. You.

We are independent so there are no old-energy fat cats sitting in the wings and we are not on commission from any single manufacturer. That means you’ll never get any pressure selling from us but you will always get honest impartial advice .

We set up our business to provide advice, project management and finance principally to homeowners, businesses and other organisations, such as schools, farms, clubs and churches, concerned about their current energy efficiency. We have also advised developers, architects and local authorities on ways to integrate energy efficiency and renewable technology into their building schemes.

In addition, we are talking to community leaders about how slightly larger scale renewable energy schemes could support towns and larger villages.

Meet the Team

AH.jpgAdam Hewson.
Following a successful 17 year career in banking and finance, Adam's felt the time was right to follow one of his real passions, building things and understanding how they work. He started young with Lego but has since built and renovated a number of real houses and built real sports cars (although he still builds lots of Lego with his children). Many of the deals he worked on in his banking career involved structuring ways for others to invest in innovative companies, including energy projects. Out of this grew a particularly strong interest in renewable energy technology and the energy independence it could provide. However, during his most recent house renovation (and possibly his last) he was frustrated by the lack of good advice and support on offer to those interested in installing renewable technology, so he decided to set up an innovative business and invest in it himself. Adam looks after the numbers and the investors and works with Tarquin on the overall development of our business.

TH.jpgTarquin Henderson. Tarquin has spent much of his career in communications and marketing. His interest in renewables started eight years ago whilst he was working in Wales to promote the steps being taken there to build sustainable energy technologies including wind, solar and tidal power. With his young family in mind, as well as his determination to live to 100, he is committed to living a more sustainable lifestyle and building a business that can help deliver a more sustainable energy economy. Tarquin takes the lead on how we talk to customers and works with Adam on the overall development of our business.

RD.jpgRob Donovan. Rob has over 20 years experience in helping householders with heating and energy systems. At the tender age of 4 he found his love of water at the kitchen sink. He then soon discovered Meccanno, pipes joined with plasticine and even a combination of both… a plumber was born! After school Rob found basic plumbing a little dull, but heating and boiler systems far more to his liking. Then after a good few years training he set up and built his own successful business, working with a range of domestic and business customers. Rob then started to work on a few, at the time unusual, projects that included ground source heat pumps, solar hot water and other Renewable technologies. This was a turning point and a fascination for what renewable energies could do had begun. He is now proud to be a part of the ReEnergise team where he can put his 20+ years of experience to use in advising our customers.

MB.jpgDr Maggie Bignall. Maggie started her career working for the Government’s nature conservation agency, after a happy childhood tramping around the countryside, including an introduction to renewable technology with much enthusiastic lighting of campfires.  After starting a family she began her own ecological consultancy business and has since built-up and sold two businesses.  Maggie has worked for a local authority and a firm of engineers, bringing the green aspects of developments to the fore and protecting wildlife.  When Landfill Tax was introduced she set up a not for profit company to use this hypothecated tax for the benefit of local communities and sustainable waste management research.  This engendered a real passion for both working with disadvantaged communities and in the technologies to reduce GHG emissions.  She has had the privilege to see the material difference that it makes to communities to take ownership of their recreational and social facilities and believes that owning your own energy supply is a natural and crucial extension to community life.  Maggie works with Natalie on developing our community energy business and expanding our business west of Surrey.

BH.jpgHoward Brown. Howard is technically qualified in electronics and specialised in control and instrumentation. With many years experience in technical sales, Howard believes in presenting the commercial opportunity often hidden in complex technical issues. Before joining ReEnergise, Howard worked for ERA Technology and QinetiQ. He has a broad interest in carbon reduction and renewable technologies and has even developed his own solutions including a wind turbine design.  After leaving the defence sector, Howard wanted to have more control over his destiny and looked for a smaller business where his entrepreneurial tendencies would make an impact and support clients more directly. He joined the team just before its official launch and is constantly developing new business routes in this interesting and dynamically changing market.

NC.jpgNatalie Cliffe. With 12 years of successful corporate finance experience in leading financial institutions across Australasia and UK, Natalie is our resident project and energy finance expert. After a colourful career working on the construction of hydro dams, wind farms, biomass projects, desalination plants and base load power stations, she made the decision to take things a little quieter and work on the ReEnergise dream of de-centralising energy supplies and empowering communities to take control of their own energy needs. Natalie divides her time between the development of the ReEnergise finance offer and special projects focusing on renewable generation opportunities and associated synergies.

DV.jpgDenis Viennot. Over the years, Denis has shared his time between investment banking and business creation and development, finding it hard to resist his passion for both worlds. In addition - through his family business, an energy consultancy - he's always had a particular sensitivity to sustainable development problematics. After starting his career in the insurance sector at Allianz Group in Paris, he moved on to M&A, focusing on the banking and insurance sectors at UBS in London. He then seized the opportunity to start his own business, between Europe and Morocco, which he successfully sold a few years later. This lead him back to finance, at GE Capital in Paris and then in London, where he was involved in structuring and syndicating various types of loans or portfolios of loans - from asset-backed to energy/infrastructure and leverage finance - within GE's European Capital Markets group. After a shift in the family business, where he was involved in business development and in various large-scale energy efficiency and sustainable development projects, he found in ReEnergise the perfect combination of venture, cleantech and finance that he was looking for and joined as a founding partner with a focus on the energy consulting and financial activities.
